Whether the portrait is a quick, on-the-spot study, or a more in-depth sitting, Ursula analyzes the subject and applies symbolism and imagery that brings out her subject's energy.

Her in-depth paintings begin with a personal interview before the actual sitting. Ursula also paints from photographs if the subject is not available.
